Our unique Amazon lodge is located in the upper Amazon basin overlooking the majestic Napo River. Because the Napo River has a low water level, you can take a refreshing swim or simply relax on the small sandy beach. The shore is also used as a dock for Cotococha´s canoe, where several of Ecuador’s Amazon tours depart.
Several public transportation companies operate the stretch Quito – Tena departing from Quito’s main terminal. The journey takes approximately 5 hours, travelling over partially paved and unpaved roads. Cotococha Amazon Lodge can arrange a pick up at the Tena bus terminal by one of Cotococha’s staff members to take you to the Lodge with another public bus. This will take another 45 minutes.
Cotococha Amazon Lodge can also provide you with a private transfer from Tena to our lodge at an additional cost.
Visit an indigenous community: Visitors will have an active involvement with the community and their everyday activities – an interesting and rewarding experience.
Exploring the Amazon Rainforest: We will walk through secondary and primary Amazon rainforest, accompanied by one of Cotococha’s native Quichua guides.
Rafting of the Jatunyacu River: Great white-water rafting & kayaking up to level IV is a major attraction for the adventure seekers in this region of Ecuador’s Amazon.
Tubing on the Napo River: Hit the rapids and feel the excitement and adrenaline flow through your body.

After this amazing encounter with Quichua culture, we return to the Lodge by foot over secondary jungle pads. Upon arrival enjoy a snack. At night, after dinner, we’ll have our usual meeting around the fireplace to share our day’s experience.
